Design and Technology

Design and Technology at Maidstone Grammar School for Girls covers a wide range of materials, processes and theories that apply to our everyday life.   The subject encompasses Electronics Technology, Food Technology, Graphical design, Resistant Materials and Textiles Technology.   All lessons take place in specialist rooms with staff who only teach in their specialist areas.

Within the Design and Technology area students have access to the latest Information Technology.  This ranges from Internet access for research to high tech computer aided design and manufacture equipment.

All students are encouraged to develop an understanding of the role both traditional and modern production methods have in making everyday products.

All of this takes place in an atmosphere of creativity, learning and most important of all, enjoyment.

The department prides itself in its diversity, opportunities for learning and success.  Work is regularly displayed at both regional and national events.
