Students with Special Educational Needs
At Maidstone Grammar School for Girls, we are committed in meeting the individualised needs of every student. For students with special educational needs, disabilities or for those who have a medical need, we ensure that they are well supported so that they can access and fully engage in all aspects of our curriculum.
Support is provided in accordance with the SEND Code of Practice Graduated Approach and is coordinated by our SENCO with the support of the Pastoral Team and dedicated Learning Mentors and SENCO Assistant.
We ensure inclusive quality-first teaching for all, as well as individualised support outside of lessons where it is needed, through learning mentor support, peer mentoring, counselling and work with external agencies such as Headstart Kent.
