πŸ”§ Countdown to Crane Departure: A Major Milestone on the Horizon πŸ—οΈ MGGS! 🚚

As a quick recap of recent progress, the structure has continued to rise steadily over recent weeks, with the roof cassettes and parapet walls reaching 60% completion, ceiling boarding completed on the Ground Floor, and staircase installations progressing well throughout the building. Mechanical and electrical works are well underway, signalling the beginning of key service installations. The project has been advancing with energy and precision – and the results are starting to truly take shape.

This week, Baxalls hit a major milestone: the second floor walls are now fully complete, with just a few remaining roof cassettes and parapet sections to be finalised by the end of next week. This progress means we say goodbye to one of the most visible symbols of construction – the tower crane – which will be leaving the MGGS site next Friday. Its departure will mark a huge moment in the project’s journey, a clear sign that the structure is standing strong and the next phase is ready to begin. Photos of this landmark moment will be shared in next week’s edition of the News & Blog.

Internally, work continues at pace. Mechanical and electrical installation is progressing well throughout, and Fireline boarding to the first floor is also advancing steadily. Externally, cavity fire barriers are now being fitted. Looking ahead to next week, the first floor will be screeded, roof finishes will begin, hygienic cladding will be installed in the toilets, and internal decoration works will commence – the transformation is truly underway.

One giant crane out, one giant leap forward for MGGS!

The building is well underway, but our Fifteen to Finish campaign still needs your support – there’s still time to donate and help us close the final gap.
