Abigail W at MGGS Sixth Form does something quite remarkable in her spare time! Whilst juggling her A Level studies, Abigail also works part time, has a caring role for her family, and is a youth member for the Royal British Legion (RBL) – the charity that supports ex-Service men and women, their families and carers.
Abigail was recently asked to be a guest speaker by the Kent County Chairman of the RBL at the Kent County Council Civic Launch at County Hall in October. It was here that she wowed the audience of Mayors, other dignitaries and KCC staff when she explained why she is a member and what role she plays in influencing young people to support the charity. She impressed all those present and they were delighted to see and speak with her afterwards. The whole event raised just short of £500 in just 1.5 hours, compared to last year’s £170.00! The Kent County Chairman for the RBL wholly believed that this was down to Abigail’s presence as everyone warmed to her and related to her speech.
MGGS is extremely proud of Abigail, who clearly is a great ambassador for RBL and the MGGS Sixth Form!
