Aspiration Digital, the digital careers conference for sixth formers, returned to MGGS on Thursday 24th March. The one-day conference run by Reflect Digital is aimed at students and teachers who want to know more about careers in the digital world and we welcomed students from Bennett Memorial, Cornwallis, Dover Grammar School for Girls, Fort Pitt Grammar, Highsted Grammar, Sir Roger Manwood’s, St Margaret’s, Towers and Valley Park schools to the event.
The event focused on development and creativity, marketing and content, as well as business and client management, and explored university and apprenticeship routes to working in the industry.
Guest speakers came from a large number of Kent and London based digital businesses and we heard from The University of Kent and IPS Apprenticeships too. The students also had the opportunity to network with all the businesses during the day.
We were delighted to hear from Sophie Clarke, former MGGS student and Aspiration Digital attendee. Sophie’s journey was inspiring as she explained how she progressed from attending the event in 2018 as a student and gaining work experience to her current role as Brand Licence Marketing Executive at Ted Baker. Her passion and drive for her career is clear and we wish her continued success as she joins Ted Baker’s leadership programme this year.
Congratulations to Nathan G at Valley Park School who won a week’s work experience with Reflect Digital in the draw.
We would like to thank the event organisers, Reflect Digital, for their hard work in arran
ging this event again and to thank all the businesses involved in making Aspiration Digital so engaging and inspiring.
