Bambinatum est Maggitum – The reviews are in!
Matilda, a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers, lives with cruel parents who find her to be a nuisance, a lousy little worm, and a bore. When Matilda enters her first term at school she captures the attention of Miss Honey, a kind teacher, and the two form a wonderful friendship. Unfortunately, the school is ruled by a mean headmistress named Miss Trunchbull, who hates children and delivers cruel and unjust punishments to all her charges. Matilda is determined to change her story, but will her cleverness and courage be enough to withstand the reign of Miss Trunchbull?
“I just wanted to say how brilliant the performance was on Thursday. The students were so very professional and every one of them knew all their words and the choreography perfectly. They all seemed to be buzzing with enjoyment doing it too.”
“Hearty Congratulations to the cast and crew of the terrific production of Matilda. I so enjoyed last night’s performance, it made me laugh and frown in all the right places! I was particularly impressed by the sheer togetherness of the performers – what better way for them to learn life skills such as teamwork, confidence, commitment and so on. Wonderful!”
“The show was just brilliant – thank you again and please tell the students how amazing they were!”
Above are just a few of the reviews that this year’s MMGS school production of Matilda Jr received. It was an absolute pleasure to work with our young people on and off the stage. They are so talented and hardworking and deserve every bit of praise.
Thank you to all the staff, parents, carers, friends, and family that came to support the young people involved and of course a MASSIVE thank you to all of the “maggots” who took part – you are all brilliant!
