#Careers Corner @MGGS

Happy New Year from MGGS Careers! With the start of a new term, we’d like to share some of the Careers related events and initiatives taking pace over the next 6 weeks.

Post-18 week for Year 12 (27th-31st January): we will be running a themed week where we will share lots of useful information about different routes students could take once they finish school so students are well informed to really start thinking about their futures. This will lead up to a dedicated session in RISE day.

RISE Day 3 (30th January) features lots of Careers related topics:

  • Year 9 – Step into the NHS Competition
  • Year 10 – Work Experience Prep & Interview Skills
  • Year 11 – Mock Interviews with Alumni
  • Year 12 – Post-18 Research

National Apprenticeship Week: 10th-14th February 2025
During National Apprenticeship Week we’ll be sharing lots of information on apprenticeships so students can start considering if this could be the right future route for them

Year 10 and Year 12 Work Experience: students are busy researching and organising work experience placements. All students and parents/carers in these year groups will have received information on how to find a placement and log it on the Unifrog platform. A reminder that placements need to be confirmed by 13th February 2025.

Students can find lots of Careers resources in the weekly Careers Newsletter posted on Google Classroom every Friday, the careers library or by seeing Mrs Hayward in the Careers Office.

Students and parents/carers are welcome to contact me at careers@mggs.org if you have any questions or would like more information on anything Careers related.
