Next week is National Apprenticeship Week 2025 (10th-14th February). This is the perfect time to explore the exciting opportunities apprenticeships can offer!

Whether your child is in Year 7 just starting to think about careers, or in Year 13 considering their next steps, now is a great time to look at how apprenticeships can provide a fantastic route into a wide range of industries—from tech and finance to engineering, healthcare, and beyond. Apprenticeships combine practical experience with training, allowing young people to earn a salary while gaining valuable skills and qualifications. Apprenticeships are also now available at all levels, from level 2 and 3 (GCSE and A-Level equivalent) up to level 6 and 7 (degree and masters level equivalent).

There are a huge number of events, talks and webinars taking place across the week – some of which I’ll be sharing with students on their Google  Classrooms and via the Careers Newsletter. Unifrog are running a virtual apprenticeship fair on Wednesday 12th February at 4pm. Registration can be found here.

If you’d like to learn more about how apprenticeships work and how they compare to other pathways, check out the Apprenticeships Parents Guide. You can also browse real apprenticeship opportunities here.
