Christmas_in_the-LibraryIt has been almost a year since our Library refurbishment and the revamped space continues to be incredibly popular with the Sixth Form as a silent study space and with all students as a slightly noisier space at break and lunchtime. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful resource for all of our students to enjoy.

With the ever increasing popularity of The Mary Smith Library, and our students’ thirst for new books, we have again created an Amazon wishlist for you to ‘Gift the Library a book for Christmas’. On our wishlist are books that our students have requested to read either for pleasure or as part of their subject wider reading. Throughout the year we also gratefully accept donations from students and often hold second hand book sales to raise funds for new stock.

Here at MGGS we recognise the positive effect a love of reading has on the wider curriculum and are always striving to keep a modern and current stock of fiction and non-fiction material. Thank you for helping us to achieve this.

To access the MGGS Library’s Wish List simply follow these steps:

1. Log onto via this link:

2. As you proceed through the purchasing process, select the “Gift Option.” This will allow you to type a free gift note message that will be delivered to the library with the book. This message will be printed onto a bookplate for the donated book. You can type a separate note for each book you order. For example: “Donated by The Jones Family.”

3. Complete the ordering process. The book will be delivered to MGGS and a bookplate placed in the front of the book, recognising your kind donation.

4. Don’t forget that if you order a book from Amazon via, you will be raising extra money for MGGS without costing you anything more.
