Design Technology at MGGS: Christmas is coming…

In the spirit of all things Christmassy, Grace and Esme from Year 12 have been helping to run a Product Design club for Year 7s to help broaden their knowledge of Design Technology.  Students have started designing and making a simple yet rustic inspired Christmas tree, complete with laser cut decorations thus mixing traditional hand skills with computer-aided design and manufacture.  

This has been an exciting opportunity for students to get hands-on with tools and equipment whilst developing a working knowledge of materials and we can’t wait to see the final results. Equally, Mrs Foy has been busy creating a sustainable, angel-inspired mannequin display created solely from reused/recycled materials.
