As with all summer terms, this has been a particularly busy one, including a number of annual events. Sports Day is always a highlight, as is the Art Exhibition and the Sports Presentation evening. This year we have also had a number of new events. The whole school fundraiser was a fantastic afternoon involving so many in the school. To date this has raised £2,397. We also introduced the VIsion event for Year 10 and opened the Woodland Garden. As we finish the school year, we have our first student visit to China taking place. I am very grateful to all the staff who so willingly give of their time throughout the year, for the benefit of students, over and above their normal teaching commitments.
At the end of this term we are saying goodbye to some members of staff. Mrs Thomas is moving to a school closer to her home, Miss Hunt is moving to work in France and Mrs Harrison is moving to a school in Surrey. We are also saying goodbye to Miss Hundal, Mr Ellis and Miss Agg who have been here on a temporary basis. We are grateful to each of them for their work at MGGS this year and wish them all the best for the future.
I do want to take this opportunity to thank all the staff, both teaching and support staff, for all of their work this year. They give tirelessly of their time for the benefit of our students and I am grateful to have such a team of dedicated professionals here at MGGS.
It has been a busy term with students in Years 11 and 13 all taking public examinations. We wish them the very best for their results and look forward to seeing them on results days.
Finally, may I wish you all a happy and enjoyable summer holiday; I look forward to seeing everyone again to start term on Tuesday, 3rd September 2019.
