Flourishing through change, a Tribute to Year 11

To our incredible Year 11 students,

Over the past two weeks, you have faced your exams with dedication, resilience and maturity  but your accomplishments stretch far beyond this short period. You have been on a five-year journey of growth, perseverance and daily effort. There is a saying: “It’s not the few big acts, but the everyday small acts that lead to great results.” You have lived this truth, showing up each day, doing the work, and building the habits that have brought you to this point.

We are especially mindful of the unique challenges you have faced. A significant part of your life and education was disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, and yet, here you are: a strong, resilient, flourishing cohort. Like dandelions, you have grown and thrived in all conditions, and we are in awe of your strength and determination.

Beyond the pandemic, the world has changed immensely in the 16 or so years since you were born. You have had to navigate an ever-evolving landscape of technology, social media, and now artificial intelligence with more change surely to come. And yet, you approach this world with curiosity, responsibility and optimism. We are confident that you will not only adapt to these changes, but contribute positively to shaping the future that lies ahead.

To the parents and carers who have supported this journey, and to the staff who have guided and encouraged each step, thank you. And to our students; we are immensely proud of you.

We look forward to welcoming many of you back into our sixth form, and for those heading off to new adventures, we can’t wait to hear about your future successes.

Today’s picnic was a fitting moment to pause and reflect on the journey we’ve shared, the highs, the hurdles, and everything in between. While there are still a few exams remaining after half term and the much-anticipated Brighton trip to come, it feels like the right time to say: Well done Year 11 ‘Class of 2025’.
