Description: This is a free, virtual 3-week course designed to share with parents and carers the techniques our team use when supporting young people. Over the sessions, parents will have the chance to learn how to use these skills for themselves so they can be more confident in supporting their own child’s mental health.

The course will also include ways they can practice self-care and look after their own wellbeing. Participants need to attend all three sessions in order to complete the course.  Here is some feedback from parents who have attended previous courses:

“I have learnt how to look at life differently, understanding young people, relaxation and how the brain works in a teenager”

“It really felt that someone cared and was listening to us and that as parents we are not alone in dealing with what can be such a distressing situation to know that your child is feeling alone and vulnerable and not know how to help them, it was not in the training manual when we gave birth!”

“ I have learnt the difference between anger, aggression, and assertiveness.  Also, how to communicate the teachings in a way a young person would understand, and to do that, I need to be able to understand the teachings myself.”
