Headteacher’s End of Term Message
It has been a very busy term with our Spring Concert, Dance Showcase, as well as school trips including to Normandy and Madrid. Our annual STEAM week took place together with RISE and World Book Day, to name but a few events.
This term, as always, is a busy time, especially for Year 11 and Year 13 students as they are working towards their examinations, supported by their teaching staff. We wish them well in these public examinations.
In this week before Easter, we annually conclude our House Cup year. As with every year, the key House events continue to be House Arts and Sports Day. It, however, cannot be ignored how many house points are awarded for good work, adhering to school policies and upholding the school’s values. This year there have been over 74,000 such house points awarded. My congratulations to each and every student for such a positive achievement.
Following our Attendance Focus week from 20th to 24th March, I am delighted to report that our overall school average attendance for that week was the highest it has been for a considerable time, thank you. A big thank you to everyone for making this a real focus and I very much hope this upward trajectory will continue into next term.
And finally, I would like to share with you pictures of our beautiful magnolia tree looking just amazing as always and in full bloom in time for the end of term! I look forward to welcoming back students on Tuesday, 22nd April refreshed and ready for the new term.
Miss Deborah Stanley, Headteacher
