Headteacher’s End of Year Message
It has been very good to have had students in school for the whole year (with a minor blip for heating troubles in February!). This term has been very busy with numerous school trips, the summer fair, school picnic, sports day, fashion show and art exhibition to give just some of the extra curricular events that have occurred this term.
We are very grateful to parents who regularly contribute to the School Fund. This term this has been used for all Year 7 students to purchase a book when they have visited Waterstones, and the prizes for the KS3 Celebration. This summer we are installing a large external canopy to the canteen which is also being purchased by the School Fund. This will enable us to use the internal space in the canteen more effectively.
The summer holiday will see the start of internal refurbishments as part of the reconfiguration ready for an additional form of entry in September 2023. Over the summer we will see the installation of a second Food and Nutrition room as well as a refurbished Textiles room. In the short term the Design Technology department will be using upstairs in the 2 Storey N block. The refurbishment to Design Technology is taking place over two summer holidays and will be finally complete in September 2023. We are still on course for the construction of our new building to start in the autumn and look forward to sharing more details with you over time.
Can I wish each student and their family a safe, enjoyable and happy summer holiday. We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Monday 5th September.
Miss Deborah Stanley
