INSET Day Teacher Training … What did it cover? 

The training day started at 8.30am with tea/coffee and croissants to welcome both our Teachers and Support staff to their INSET day training.

Everyone then took part in a presentation on Learning & Belonging . This included a chance for staff to reflect on their own stories of the past two years; the challenges, high points and lessons learned. Sharing  these experiences reminded us of the role our school can play in helping students and staff to learn and grow and as we continue, post C19,  to develop our community and the shared sense of belonging that MGGS can provide.

Teaching staff then spent the day working in departments, pastoral and leadership teams exploring ways to improve the support we give our students. This includd taking time to read and reflect upon this piece, written by US Educationalist Doug Lemov. A number of the parents amongst us felt that it resonated so we are also sharing it here too.
