Knit and Natter Group at MGGS!
The Diversity Ambassadors and the Diversity Working Party at MGGS are planning to work in conjunction with the Art and DT departments to start a Knit and Natter group towards the end of the spring term. This will provide a safe space for students in the lower school to create knitted artwork and potentially learn a new skill, while also discussing issues around diversity. We would love for this to eventually lead to a ‘Knit Bomb’ event in June to celebrate Pride month.
In order to do this, we need donations of unwanted wool. Therefore, if anybody in our community has unwanted balls of wool lying around their house, preferably in bright or rainbow colours, please could you donate them to us.
You can either send them in with a student to bring to Mrs Jenkins in the Art office, or if this is not possible, hand them to reception FAO Mrs Jenkins.
Thank you in advance for supporting this initiative. Mrs Jenkins, Head of Art Department
