The Life of Zebbie the Lonely Alien

In a dimly lit corner of a bustling city, nestled between the shimmering lights and cacophony of bustling life, there lay a small calm park. Its tranquil pond reflected the starlit sky, offering a brief break from the hustle and bustle of humanity itself… Here, in this supposed fun park, a lone figure wandered, a being unlike any other, cast away from the cosmos but anchored by a yearning to return home. His skin was a sea-green colour which was a rough texture however his hands were slimy. His face was long and he always seemed to be frowning. He was very skinny so much that you could almost see all his small, fragile bones.

Zebbie had arrived on Earth a mere month ago but it felt like a year ago to him, miscalculating the ability of his craft while travelling via the intergalactic highways. He had always been fascinated by the neon blue planet, and was going to visit until well he got stuck on Earth that is . The planet’s colours radiant against the coal-black , lonely void of space. With his spaceship malfunctioning, he found himself marooned, his advanced technology rendered useless amidst the primitive signals of Earth. He could not communicate with his family. Not even one word. However all he wanted was one conversation, just one look.

From the moment Zebbie stepped onto the wet soil of Earth, he felt the weight of judgement. His iridescent skin glimmered under the sun, and his large, expressive eyes, capable of conveying emotions in ways humans couldn’t fathom, were met with confusion and fear. Children would point and laugh, their parents would shield them desperately from this unknown creature. Adults averted their gaze, whispering rumours of the bizarre creature that had fallen from the sky. Some people just stared and others glared at him. He turned round giving in to the humans. He felt as if he were a thundercloud and everyone was avoiding him at all costs.

He wandered the massive  city, drawn to its vibrant life, yet always feeling like an intruder; he was never meant to be here on Planet Earth (his least favourite of all planets.) Each day, he watched people, he saw families laughing together and he longed to have his. Most of all he missed his little sister Zyla and at first he thought he missed him too but he started to lose all hope.  What if they did not try to contact him, what if they just do not care about him anymore?  All he wanted was to regain his happiness after all this time.  All he had to do was to find a way to get back to his home planet no matter the cost no matter the risk. “I CAN DO THIS I WILL FIND A WAY BACK HOME,” Zebbie told himself confidently.
