Lucy T Athletic Success!

Lucy gained qualifying times this season which allowed her to compete at Nationals at Sportcity in Manchester.  Lucy ran the 100m on Saturday 7th August, making it through to the semi final with a PB and then running the 200m on Sunday 8th August, making it through to the final with another PB. Running at the Nationals gave Lucy an amazing experience to be up against the top U17 girls in the country.

Saturday 21st August gave Lucy the opportunity to continue her development at the South of England Athletic Association in Kingston. Lucy ran a huge PB in the 200m and secured 2nd place and a silver medal.

The very last competition of the season, Sunday 5th September saw Lucy compete at the Upper Youth Development League in Dartford. Lucy won the 100m with a huge PB ranking her 17th in the UK. She followed this up by winning the 200m with another huge PB and also ranking her 17th in the UK. Just to finish off this event 4 Tonbridge AC girls ran the relay with Lucy on leg 4 and at the last batten change Lucy was in 2nd place. However, Lucy found another level and pushed past the Blackheath & Bromley athlete to secure a 1st place win for the Tonbridge team.

Lucy moves into the 2nd year U17 age category this October and now trains between Tonbridge AC and a 1:1 coach in London; her aim is to move up the rankings next season and secure elite athlete status.
