MGGS Design Technology: Enrichment Programme

Where do materials come from? What are the pros and cons of mining? Can we rethink the design process? How can we meet the UN’s sustainable development goals? These are just some of the questions students in Year 9 have been discussing and exploring in their Enrichment lessons with Miss Hundal. Students have been able to design and make their own jewellery pieces by developing a working knowledge of the pewter casting method alongside demonstrating a range of hand finishing techniques; all facilitating a selection of bespoke designs. The high quality finish and shine achieved on a number of these unique designs was incredible.
