Eco-Schools-MGGSThe MGGS Eco Committee is made up of one student from each year group in the school and meets once a term to plan events to raise awareness of environmental issues within the school. As a result of their hard work, an additional 20 recycling baskets have been placed in classrooms and 5 more recycling wheelie bins have been ordered and will arrive soon. They are also pleased to announce a couple of exciting upcoming events:
19th March – the Eco Committee is organising a ‘No single-use plastic’ day, where we hope that students will not bring to school or use any single-use plastic.
29th April – the Eco Committee is organising a ‘Switch Off Week’. We are going to read the electricity meters every day the week before and every day during the Switch Off week and the committee hope to see a significant reduction in energy use during that week to raise awareness about cutting energy use.

More information about these events will be sent out nearer the time.
