Aware of the broad range of expertise among our staff across many disciplines, MGGS has been exploring ways to allow staff to learn something new, just for fun! Some of our teachers have recently returned to the classroom themselves, attending a pottery club led by Mrs Jenkins and the Art Department. MGGS is committed to providing experiences for staff and students that promote wellbeing and the value of learning new skills. There was a lot of interest in this weekly club and 17 staff attended the after-school sessions, which were thoroughly enjoyed by all. All participants were encouraged to design their own pieces and the results are shown in the accompanying photos. These clearly show the range of themes, patterns and products created, and these pieces represent hard work and a lot of fun! We are very grateful for the time and expertise of Mrs Jenkins in particular, and thank her for running this short course. We look forward to finding a new project next year!
