MGGS Welcomes our New Year 7s for Induction Day 2022
The MGGS community was delighted to welcome it’s next generation of students on Thursday for their long awaited induction day. Students met their fellow classmates and spent the day looked after by their Sixth Form Assistants.
The day started with Miss Stanley, Headteacher and Mrs Ryan, Head of Year 7, along with Head Students and Form Assistants welcoming our new Year 7s at the front door and taking them all to the Main Hall to discover that all important question… “Which Form Group am I in?”
Eager to get started, our students ventured to their Form Rooms for a few team building exercises; “Getting to know You” and “Anxiety Allaying” with their Form Tutors. Then followed a quiz around MGGS and selection of several Taster Lessons in Art, Computing English, Geography, History, Mathematics, MFL (French, German & Spanish), Music and Religious Studies.
At the end of the day, our new students went to the Induction Day Assembly where Mrs Ryan along with the Year 7 Form Tutors spoke to the students about the day, expectations for September and then wished them a happy summer and looked forward to seeing them ready for action at MGGS on 5th September!
Meanwhile… parents were patiently waiting for their daughters to be safely returned. All students of course were reunited with their parents, beaming with smiling faces and full of the joys of MGGS. Although perhaps there were a few parents sad to see their ‘little ones’ all grown up at secondary school. We will look after them!
