In the final week of term three, MGGS hosted two days of mindset sessions delivered by Martin Griffin, one of the creators of the VESPA mindset programme, which underpins our school’s mindset focus. Martin spent Thursday hosting two interactive lectures with Years 9 and 12, which were designed to help students think about their own visions for their learning, whilst also providing them with an essential toolkit to help them manage their work.
On the Friday, Martin led a number of sessions at the staff inset day focusing on how to use VESPA to support curriculum planning and develop students’ non-cognitive skills. This training was provided through four different seminars and a whole staff lecture, and has proved very valuable in helping us continue to provide outstanding teaching and learning for the student body. We want to thank Martin for his expertise and say well done to Years 9 and 12 who engaged very positively in the lectures.
