New Building Update – Staff & Students Visit and Steel Beam Signing
Progress continues at pace on our new building, and this week has been another exciting milestone – with more of our staff getting the opportunity to visit the site and see the transformation for themselves. The buzz is definitely growing as the building begins to take real shape!
All the ground floor walls are now fully in place, and the floor cassettes are due to be completed tomorrow, with installation of the first-floor walls starting on Tuesday. If you’ve been on site, you’ll have seen the yellow lines marking out where these walls will go – the toilet layout mirrors the ground floor, while the new science classrooms are noticeably larger, offering much more space for learning.
A special moment this week was the signing of one of the main steel beams by the Baxall site team, the Streif timber frame erectors, and a number of our own staff, including Deborah and Anne. This beam will be placed on the ground floor near the electrical switch room, with the signatures remaining visible until it is eventually boarded over – a lasting mark of this collaborative journey.
It’s been brilliant to watch the building rise step by step, and every phase adds a new layer of excitement. The future really is taking shape right in front of us – we’ll continue to keep you updated as things move forward.
