The PFA held our Year 7 Welcome quiz in the Main Hall last Friday evening. There were many delightful girls who attended on the night and made up 5 teams. Many were quite timid and trepidatious to start with but quickly gained confidence and before we knew it were all chatting and joining in the fun of the quiz. There were some great scores but “The Pink Wafers” won the top prize which was presented by Mrs Ryan. Some of the parents took the opportunity to stay and have coffee in the Oldham Quad with the PFA committee and other parents, which was well received as there were a few families from outside the local area who were able to discuss the school and how it has been for girls already attending.

There was frantic chatter and exchanging of mobile numbers from the girls upon their departure and we felt that the evening had been another successful venture. This was echoed by Emma whose daughter was very anxious about coming to the school but had skipped out of the hall with new found confidence as well as friends made at the event and is now very much looking forward to September and all that MGGS has to offer. Many thanks to the staff, students & PFA members who gave up their time on Friday to make this such a wonderful event, and we look forward to running it again next year.
