Non sibi sed aliis
Today the nation marks the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. There will clearly be national guidance in due course on events which will occur in the coming days, and how that affects all schools. As and when we know we will pass information onto Parent(s), Carer(s) and Students. For now, our thoughts are with our King and his family in their loss and as they mourn.
Today was a day for the school to quietly and privately pay our respects. Therefore, we held two minutes silence at 11am to remember the Queen’s life of service to not just this country but the whole Commonwealth.
The school’s motto of non sibi sed omnibus does not fully describe the late Queen’s life and reign; rather it could be described as
non sibi sed allis – not for oneself, but for others.
