Our Headteacher’s End of Term Message
It has been almost back to normal this week with Rag Week, though the snow day on Monday created some challenges and changes. It was sad that again we had to cancel the Carol Service. I am hoping that most of what was going to have been included in this service will be included in the different last day of term assemblies.
I am grateful to our Head students: Millie, Ellie, Sruthy and Charlotte for all their hard work in making this year’s Rag Week such a success. Clearly, RAG week is fundamentally about raising money for charity and to date the total raised just over £4300.
It has also been good this term to see a return of more school trips. We have had both our first overseas and first overnight trips since before the pandemic. I am very grateful to all the staff who so willingly give up their time to enable these to happen
Goodbye and Welcome
At the end of this term we are sadly saying goodbye to some colleagues. Mrs Wilkinson leaves us after 17 years having gained promotion to Head of Mathematics. Ms Zoil, Mrs Francis, Miss Kombara and Mrs Hynard are moving on to new opportunities in their respective careers. I would like to publicly thank each of them for all their work whilst at MGGS.
In January, we welcome:
Miss Morris, Assistant Headteacher
Mr Apps, Teacher of Mathematics
Mrs Chambers-Smith, Teacher of Social Sciences
Mrs Ramazani, Teacher of Art
Mrs Maria Arokiam, Cover Supervisor
We are also welcoming Mrs Bowmanback to MGGS.
I look forward to welcoming students back to MGGS on Tuesday, 3rd January 2023.
Can I conclude by wishing each family a peaceful, healthy and Happy Christmas.
Non sibi sed omnibus!
Miss Deborah Stanley, Headteacher
