Pride Month @MGGS_

June is ‘Pride Month’, an opportunity to raise awareness about LGBTQ+ while also celebrating the diversity and richness of our school community.

Whole school assemblies are resuming week commencing 27th June and the focus will be on Pride. Also students at KS3 have been making ‘knit bombs’ with which they have redecoratred the magnolia tree in the main courtyard. Thank you to Mrs Jenkins for leading and organising the ‘knit and natter’ group – their creative work can now be appreciated by everyone.

LGBTQ+ is not just a ‘monthly event’ – throughout the academic year, Y10 students and above have been exchanging and discussing various matters as part of the Kaleidoscope Club. Thank you to Mrs Shave for leading on this.

A perfect ‘finale’ for this event will happen on Sports Day (30th June) – the Diversity Ambassadors along with 10S will organise a cake sale with the aim to raise funds for the charities that have been elected by students.
