Royal Academy Success for Vida & her Cat!

We are excited to announce that Vida in Year 7 has had a piece of her art selected to be displayed in the Royal Academy Young Artists’ Summer Show. Now in its seventh year, the Young Artists’ Summer Show is an open submission exhibition for students aged 4–18 studying in the UK.  Artworks are judged by a panel of artists and arts professionals, with selected artworks displayed online and on-site at the Royal Academy of Arts. Thousands of submissions are received each year, and we are very proud of this huge achievement by one of our own MGGS artists. This is the second time an MGGS artist has been successful in being exhibited at this exhibition, so look out for how to enter next year!!

Vida’s work can be seen online from the 15th July and viewed in the exhibition at the Royal Academy in London from 15th July until 10th August.

Well done Vida!

This is what Vida had to say about her achievement:

“I’m actually quite glad about what I’ve achieved and I’m very proud of myself. I didn’t actually put much thought into the painting, and just created whatever came to mind. This is a very nice opportunity to have though, and I am glad of what I’ve accomplished”

Vida’s painting is titled: Birthday Party

Description: When I was thinking of what to do for this painting, I said to myself, “What’s the thing I draw the most?” Cats. Except he’s at a birthday party and no one showed up.. (he sent out plenty of invites!!)
