Sixth Form Extra: Museum Visits

Twelve students will be making weekly visits to Maidstone Museum in a new activity added to Sixth Form Extra.  They will be exploring two themed galleries a week.  Their first visit looked at the fine art exhibits, including the Japanese gallery pictured here, as well as taking in the fascinating temporary exhibition on the folk tradition of ‘hoodening’, a tradition of causing havoc at festivals by dressing up as a wooden horse.  It was a reminder of how lucky we are to have such an eclectic, free collection on our doorstep!
