So You Want To Dance? Grand Final Weekend Extravaganza!

Over the weekend, dancers from all of our competition teams and our A Level dancers took to the stage to compete in the Grand Finals of the So You Want to Dance? competition. The grand finals were open to any routines that qualified with a score over 250/300.

On Saturday our fabulous G-Fix Contemporary and A Level dancers competed (against themselves!) in an incredibly competitive category.

On Sunday, Spectrum G-Fix Commercial and Intermediate teams had their time to shine and compete in some very tough categories. Lots of our dancers participated in the Dance Challenge, taught by judge Benjamin Drew, and Sophie A was selected as the Senior winner!

We had some absolutely amazing results over the weekend:

A Level Dance: 4th place in Senior Classical Troupes.

G-Fix Contemporary: 3rd place in Senior Classical Troupes.

Judges Award: Awarded to Katie H and Freya W for their choreography of ‘Turning Tables’.

Spectrum: 2nd Place in Intermediate Classical Troupes.

G-Fix Commercial: 1st place in Commercial Troupes.

To finish the weekend on a high, G-Fix Commercial’s number ‘DANCE.’ was crowned 2nd highest routine of the Grand Finals – what an unbelievable achievement for the dancers and for Ellie and Jess who choreographed the number!

I would like to thank every single dancer who gave up their time to represent MGGS this weekend – they were respectful, dedicated and a credit to the school. I would also like to thank Mrs Disley for coming along to the competition on Sunday with us!
