STEAM Week Art Workshop
On Friday last week, Giles Whitehead, a local freelance artist, came to run a workshop with some of our lucky Year 7-10 students. Previously a model maker for The Wombles, he showed our students how to make miniature models of different products which were historically produced in the factories in Maidstone. The students really enjoyed it and learned a lot about working professionally in various different creative fields.
We offer our thanks to the William and Edith Oldham Trust who has funded this project.
You can see more about Giles and his work on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube @gileswhiteheadartist. His illustrated video on YouTube is called Hops, Pops, Paper and Toffee and shows stories from Maidstone’s industrial past.
Thank you again to Giles for coming in and sharing his work with our lucky students.
