STOP PRESS: 160-Tonne Crane Arrives On Site & Miss Stanley Climbs 17 Metres High!
This morning brought an electrifying moment in the progress of our new building – a mighty 160-tonne crane officially arrived on site! With construction powering ahead, excitement is building fast… and so is the structure itself!
As if that was not enough, Miss Stanley was then invited by the Site Manager to climb the 17 meters scaffolding, she commented, “It was an amazing experience to see the fantastic view of the town and Maidstone area.” We are please to report Miss Stanley returned safely to the grounds of MGGS!
Adding to the buzz, earlier in the week Miss Stanley, Headteacher, accompanied her Year 12 and Year 13 Further Maths students for a behind-the-scenes look at the fascinating mathematical principles behind the build. From structural engineering to real-life problem-solving, students got a unique insight into how maths brings architecture to life.
A huge thank you to Baxalls, who kindly hosted the visit and shared expert knowledge on the project – including all the details about the incredible crane, which students had eagerly been anticipating.
Stay tuned… the future is rising before our eyes!
