Year 10 and 11 MFL visit to Madrid
During the half term break the MFL department at MGGS took 40 Year 10 and 11 students to Madrid in Spain. We had a busy few days visiting the Royal Palace, the Reina Sofia Art Gallery and the Retiro park. One of the highlights of the trip had to be the flamenco dancing lesson on Sunday morning when the students were taught a complete flamenco routine, this was then followed by a professional show by flamenco dancers, a guitarist and a singer. Another highlight was a guided visit to Las Ventas bullring where the student learnt all about the history and culture of Spanish bullfighting.
I really enjoyed learning about the history of Madrid and it was fun being with my friends and exploring the beautiful city together – Fiyin I, 10S
It was an amazing opportunity to explore Spanish culture and practise our language skills. I really enjoyed visiting the Plaza Mayor and the bull ring. Thank you to Mrs Harrison and the other teachers involved for taking us on this trip!- Neha J, 10N
The students all enjoyed their four day stay in Madrid and gained lots from it. It was also so good to re-commence this visit after three years!
