Year 10 Work Experience

Year 10 Work Experience MGGS

A big WELL DONE to Year 10 for completing their work experience placements professionally and enthusiastically. This is the first work experience for Y10 students for a few years and they have shown us how well they can handle the pressure of not only finding a placement but speaking with employers, filling in necessary documentation and working a 4 day work week- whether this be in person or virtually- although some students found working until 5pm far too exhausting!!
A few members of staff had the pleasure of conducting visits last week as and when we could and it was a joy to see students in such grown up environments.

Please enjoy some comments from both students and employers as well as some lovely pictures of the week:

“I have had the best day today! I went to Lloyds of London and met some stock brokers.   I think I have made a good impression as one of the development consultants has recommended me to a company for an internship. I have found this week so amazing, it has been so useful and I feel I have grown so much just in a few days.”

“It has been a very exhausting week but the entire four days passed smoothly. I didn’t have any trouble with the environment nor the workers. I was able to integrate myself into the job quite seamlessly.”

“It was a pleasure having your student complete her work experience with us, she was motivated, hardworking and demonstrated great communication and social skills and integrated well with her fellow co-workers. She is a credit to the school and we would welcome her back anytime.”

“Your student has represented your school well and has been happy to get involved in all aspects of the business. She was punctual each day and proved to be a confident and capable young lady. She interacted well with everyone and was professional throughout.”

“Your student is really, really lovely and she did really well here. She listened well, she did what we asked. I think she thoroughly enjoyed it and you could see that this is something that she would like to do when she is older and I think she should! She would be a great asset to any employer.”

A huge thank you to employers, parents/carers, Y10 tutors and all other members of staff who were involved for their support with the work experience programme.
