Year 7 & 8 Theatre Trip to see The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Year 7 & 8 Theatre Trip to see The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

On Thursday, 3rd November a group of KS3 students from MGGS and three members of staff stepped through the wardrobe (Gillian Lynne Theatre, London) into the magical kingdom of Narnia. This was our first school theatre trip since before Covid so the day was particularly exciting for the Drama Department.

It might have been miserable weather that day, but the show was full of pure joy!  It was beautifully staged, the puppets and actors were brilliant and the music was so atmospheric. The audience really were transported to a land full of snow and magic as we said goodbye to wartime Britain and joined Lucy, Susan, Peter and Edmund on an adventure where they met an unforgettable lion and a very cruel witch.

Lizzie L in Year 8 at MGGS summed the afternoon up perfectly:

The show was an amazing experience, it was beautiful to watch and I really enjoyed being able to have some time out of school that gave us an insight into what drama can be, not just in the classroom but also on the stage. Thank you so much to everyone that made this trip possible as it really was enjoyed by everyone who had the chance to go.”
