Year 7 Waterstones Visit

Over the past few weeks, all year 7 students have had the opportunity to visit Waterstones. Each class left the school after lunch and walked to the store in Maidstone, (thankfully the weather has been nice). Upon arrival, we were greeted by Ceilia and her team of experts, who were on hand to assist students selecting a book to take home. The students had a chance to browse the vast selection of books in the childrens/teen section of Waterstones. Once they chose their book they then had a chance to sit and read until the end of the day. All students showed exemplary behaviour and were a credit to the school.

Gladys S: ‘I really like classic literature. At Christmas we read A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens and I really enjoyed it. I wanted to read more of his work so I chose an abridged version of Oliver Twist.’

Indiana S: ‘My friend  recommended the book It Only Happens in the Movies by Holly Bourne to me. I have read a lot about the author and have heard that their books are really good.’

Charlotte A: ‘This book (The Girls I’ve Been by Tess Sharpe) has been on my wishlist for a while. I read the blurb and it sounded amazing, so I got it!
