Year 9 Textiles – Pleating and Smocking

Year 9 students are working hard on perfecting their pleating and smocking skills. Developing areas of their strengths, they are slowly creating fantastic origami-inspired bodices, using only cotton calico and threads. Above you can see a fantastic example of American Smocking, a historical technique which takes a lot of patience to perfect. A big well done to Angela T in 9N for creating this piece!
