Bronze Success for England Korfball Team in Portugal
From Thursday 3rd to Sunday 7th July, I had the amazing opportunity to represent England A in an international korfball tournament held in Leiria, Portugal. It was an unforgettable experience full of challenge, teamwork, and success.
The tournament kicked off on the 4th July, and over the course of four days, we played a total of 14 matches. We were thrilled to win 9 of them, finishing in 3rd place overall and securing bronze medals for England A. As a team, we averaged an impressive 12 goals per game, which really reflected our hard work and determination on the court.
One of the most memorable moments for me came during our match against the Dutch team. The game was incredibly close and went to golden goal – meaning the first team to score would win. I managed to score a long shot under pressure, securing the victory for our team. It was a moment I’ll never forget!
I’m so proud of what we achieved and grateful for the experience of competing at such a high level with a fantastic team. Thank you to everyone who supported us throughout the tournament.
