Introducing G-Fix Jazz, for dancers in Years 9-13.
Auditions for this competition team will be on Monday 19th October in the Main Hall, and team rehearsals will start after half term for those offered a space on the team.

In our second Food & Nutrition lesson, #Year7 students took to the chopping boards to practise essential kitchen safety and precision. Using carrots as their canvas, students put their bridge and claw grips into action to master classic culinary cuts, including paysanne, fine julienne, and dice.
Developing safe, confident knife skills is a vital foundation for a lifetime of healthy home cooking - an essential life skill that our students are well on their way to mastering!
Our Wartime Tunnel Tours for Primary Schools are now well underway, with two to three schools visiting us each week!
So far this term, we’ve welcomed three different primary schools to MGGS, with more visits booked before the end of term. It has been fantastic to see students exploring the tunnels, getting involved in the activities and discovering what life was like at MGGS during the Second World War.
Our Sixth Form students have also had a great time leading the visits and are already eager to do more. We’ve now recruited a new group of Year 12 students who will be taking over the sessions, so their training is about to get underway. We still have a couple of spaces available this term for any primary schools who would like to join us. If you can’t make it this term, we’ll be welcoming schools again in Term 5.

SEND roadshows give families and professionals the opportunity to come together, hear updates, and ask questions about local SEND services and support. They are a great chance to access face-to-face support, connect with local services, share feedback, and learn more about what is available for children and young people with SEND in Kent.

Jessica’s #UKMT Summer School Intermediate Challenge!
“At the end of term 6, I was lucky enough to be informed that I had been awarded a place at this year’s UKMT Summer School. Only the top 1.5% scorers in the UKMT Intermediate challenge from around the country are considered for the Summer School so it’s safe to say I was pretty chuffed with myself and my maths abilities and I accepted the offer immediately.
The UKMT Summer School consists of 6 days boarding (this year at Woodhouse Grove boarding school in Yorkshire) amongst other inquisitive young people, engaged in a series of maths sessions that aim to go above and beyond the typical curriculum. I enjoyed partaking in many challenging sessions on a variety of topics: the Pigeonhole Principle, Graph Theory, Proof by Induction, Combinatorics, (constructing) Polyhedra, Modular Arithmetic, and some rather infuriating Logic Puzzles ( - curse you Knights and Knaves!). We began each day with some light geometry (working from the first of Euclid’s The Elements onwards) and number theory - both of which proved very enriching. Overall, I had an amazing time and am hoping to be able to return as a Senior Volunteer in the summer of 2028!” Jessica
#MGGS MGGS Student Raises £1,200 to Build School Libraries in Uganda
We are incredibly proud of Keira in our Sixth Form, who recently hosted a highly successful bingo night and raised an impressive £1,200 to help provide books and libraries for school children in Uganda. Keira was inspired by the amazing work of her aunt, MGGS alumna Caroline Fuller (2002-2009).
After moving to Uganda in 2018 and seeing firsthand that most local schools lacked libraries, Caroline and her co-founders took action and have already successfully opened two libraries within Noble Care Nursery & Primary School and Kibedi Primary School.
Caroline actually credits her time at MGGS with cementing her lifelong passion for literature, warmly recalling how her inspiring English teacher, Mr Down, would jump on tables to read poetry! Driven by that same passion, Keira wanted to contribute to her aunt's life-changing initiative. There are some wonderful photos from Keira’s bingo night, alongside pictures of the Ugandan school children enjoying the new libraries her fundraising is helping to support.
