We were delighted to kick off our new academic year with the first school trip to Bewl Water, an event that had been eagerly anticipated after needing to be postponed from the previous academic year due to extreme weather conditions. Year 9 students embarked on this memorable adventure; activities included the Aqua Park and the woodlands for an action-packed game of laser tag.

Next week, our new #year7 students are heading to Blacklands Farm for a day dedicated to team-building, new friendships, and unforgettable fun. This trip is the perfect opportunity to bond with classmates and settle into life at MGGS through exciting, collaborative activities.
Whether they will be tackling the crate climbing challenges or testing their nerve with abseiling, they will have the chance to develop their teamwork skills, meet new friends from different forms and experience the supportive spirit of our school community.

Give your pupils the chance to experience history where it actually happened! Our MGGS Wartime Tunnel Visits offer Year 5 and Year 6 pupils a unique opportunity to explore the school’s original Second World War air-raid shelters and discover what life was like for schoolchildren during the war. The visit includes an interactive session in our WW2 Visitor Centre, wartime activities and games, a guided lesson in the tunnels, and the chance to explore these fascinating spaces with our specially trained MGGS Sixth Form student guides.
📅 Visits are available during Terms 1, 5 and 6 👧 KS2 Pppils 👥 Maximum 30 pupils per visit 💷 £200 per visit ⏰ Approximately 10am–2pm
This is a hands-on, memorable history experience that brings the Second World War to life — and gives pupils the chance to be taught by our very own MGGS students.
