Year 12 Update

As we reach the end of the academic year, we want to take a moment to reflect on what a fantastic year it has been for our Year 12 students. They have worked incredibly hard, both in and out of the classroom, and have embraced every opportunity that Sixth Form life has to offer.

From exciting trips and enrichment activities to stepping confidently into many different student leadership roles, year 12 have shown real maturity, enthusiasm, and commitment. They’ve settled in brilliantly, and over the course of term 6 have started making progress in planning their post-18 pathways. Senior staff enjoyed meeting 1:1 with all students in the early weeks of this term and learning about the many different pathways our students are considering.

Students also attended the UCAS Discovery exhibition in June, and many have since organised to visit university open days. There are also a significant number of students considering higher/degree-level apprenticeships and we have welcomed a recent leaver into school to discuss this. The majority of Year 12 have also completed exciting work experience placements in recent weeks, and we have received glowing feedback from nearly all; commenting on our students’ ambition and commitment. We reach the summer break tired but excited for the future; this cohort of young people have so much promise and we are excited to see what they will achieve.

It has been a pleasure to be your Head of Year and I wish you all the best in the future. Enjoy the summer break!
