🏫 Two Weeks to Go – The Helen Keen Building Is Nearly Ours! ✨

With just 14 days until MGGS officially takes over the Helen Keen Building, this week’s progress has been nothing short of thrilling. The finishing touches are appearing everywhere, and the building is transforming rapidly into the vibrant new home our students and staff have been eagerly awaiting!

Here’s what’s new this week:

Balustrade installation is now complete on Stair 2, and handrails have been fitted all the way up to the roof access.

The First Floor Science Labs are looking fantastic with all ceiling tiles fully installed and decorations complete.

Groundworks have taken a huge leap forward with tarmac now being laid around the site.

MDF boxings have been fitted neatly into the Riser cupboards.

The building’s interiors are taking shape with carpet tiles finished on the Second Floor and now underway on the Ground Floor.

Brickwork continues to rise along the North Elevation.

Every teaching and learning space is taking on its finished feel as blinds have now been installed across all floors.

A particularly exciting milestone: the reception desk installation began today – a true sign that we’re nearly there!

Shelving is going in across the store cupboards.

The fume cupboard is now fully connected, bringing the Science department one step closer to their new home.

Fencing works have begun on the East elevation.

A lovely environmental addition – bat and bird boxes have been installed around the building.

External lighting is currently being fitted, bringing the surroundings to life.

And progress continues on the LPG storage installation on the East elevation.

🌟 The excitement is building…

Only two weeks remain, and the momentum is unstoppable. Departments across MGGS – from Science to Music to our pastoral and administration teams – are buzzing with anticipation. Soon, students will begin their next chapter in a stunning, purpose-built space designed to inspire, innovate and thrive. The countdown is well and truly on!
