The Moment we’ve been waiting for… It’s move-in time at The Helen Keen Building!
This week has seen a huge milestone as the packers and removals team arrived on site, carefully moving classroom, laboratory and office equipment into their new abode – The Helen Keen Building. Across the school, departments have been busy packing up years’ worth of resources; Science with its vast array of specialist equipment, and Music with instruments of all shapes and sizes, all preparing for their new homes. Of course, the History team are looking forward to moving into specialist rooms with easy access to our tunnels.
Over the final days, Baxalls have been hard at work putting the finishing touches to the building. Groundworks, decorations, signage, furniture installation, brickwork and external access works are now fully complete, bringing together everything that has been progressing so steadily over recent weeks. The building truly looks and feels like a school, ready to be filled with learning, creativity and music.
In parallel, our Development Trust Lead will be taking up occupancy of the MGGS WW2 Visitor Centre, marking another exciting step forward for the wider MGGS community.
And tomorrow… yes, finally the day will be here! Baxalls will officially hand over The Helen Keen Building to MGGS, allowing us to move in at last. Huge thanks to Baxalls for their incredible hard work, dedication and care in delivering such a beautiful building for our school – we can’t wait to begin this next chapter.
