Behind the Scenes… Let’s take a look!
A thank you to the teams who ensured The Helen Keen Building was ready.
The successful transition into The Helen Keen Building is a testament to the dedication of many teams, but also to the vision and determination of Miss Stanley, Headteacher, to provide MGGS students with state-of-the-art facilities that are second to none. We would like to take this opportunity to recognise the extraordinary effort put forth, often quietly and behind the scenes, to ensure this new building was ready.
Our appreciation goes to Baxall Construction, whose professionalism and collaborative spirit were evident throughout the build. We hope the well-deserved sausage and bacon baps from the School Canteen provided the fuel needed to sustain their excellent work on site.
Internally, the rigorous planning from the School Business Manager & Finance Team – managing essential funding and procurement – laid the groundwork for success.
The Network Team delivered the crucial technological infrastructure, leading the way in technology, with interactive screens, PCs, fibre links, cabling and wifi to new computers and CCTV, ensuring a fully connected and modern learning environment.
The Site Team managed the demanding logistics, coordinating contractors, overseeing fire alarm integration, and meticulously setting up every finishing touch, ready for our students in January.
Finally, we commend the History, Music, and Science Departments, with a special mention to the Science Technicians Team, for the immense and meticulous work involved in relocating and commissioning all specialised equipment and resources.
Their collective dedication has successfully delivered this outstanding new facility, marking a significant milestone for our entire school community.
