The Handing Over of The Helen Keen Building & First Week for Students
It was a really special moment for MGGS as the Helen Keen Building (HKB) was officially handed over. The formal handover took place with Kent County Council, Baxalls, Miss Stanley and Mrs Lindsay, Chair of Governors on Friday, 19th December, along with a very excited team of staff. It was a great opportunity to recognise the huge amount of work that has gone into the project, and to thank Baxalls for delivering such a fantastic building.
After a busy and carefully planned move behind the scenes (more on that in our Behind the Scenes article), students moved into HKB on Tuesday, 6th January 2026. All students were given time to explore the building through organised visits throughout the day.
The atmosphere was positive and full of excitement, with students enjoying lessons in their new classrooms and specialist spaces. The Helen Keen Building is already feeling like a real part of school life and marks an exciting new chapter for the whole MGGS community.
