Creative Writing Winner for Term 2

For the Term 2 creative writing competition, students were provided with a picture prompt to inspire their poetry, and we are delighted to present the winning entry.

Whispers of Winter

Beneath the hush of powdered skies,
The forest breathes in silver sighs.
A river winds through frozen dreams,
Soft echoes hum beneath its gleam.

The pines stand tall, in solemn grace,
Snowflakes kiss each weathered face.
No voice but wind, no step but stream,
world asleep inside a dream.

And in that stillness, pure and deep,
The earth and sky in silence sleep.
A fleeting peace the cold bestows-
The heart of winter, soft and slow.
