Year 11 Careers and Aspirations Guidance Meetings

This week, we were delighted to hold over 170  1:1 Carers and Guidance Meetings. The event provided a vital opportunity for our Year 11 students and their parents to discuss current academic progress and suitability for A-Level courses.

The meetings, which made excellent use of our new Visitor Centre in the Helen Kene Building, included guidance on how to ensure students meet our A Level courses entry criteria,  discussions around which of our super-curricular opportunities would benefit them (such as our Medic Society, EPQ, Core Maths, and ESB) and advice on specific career pathways from speaking with our dedicated Careers and Aspirations Lead.

The event was also a fantastic showcase for our brand new laboratory and musical facilities, and students were proud to lead their parents on tours, giving them a firsthand look at the exciting new spaces.

Initial feedback suggests the event was incredibly valuable for both students and parents with event feedback indicating that 80% would recommend our sixth form for a friend.

We are committed to ensuring a smooth and confident transition for every Year 11 student, providing the best possible support as they approach their GCSEs and prepare for the next chapter in our Sixth Form.
