MGGS Celebrates World Book Day with Literary Extravaganza!

MGGS students and staff celebrated World Book Day on Thursday, 5th March, with an exciting variety of activities.

The day began with a special assembly video. Throughout the week, students were encouraged to participate in the ‘Read Anywhere Bingo’ competition, where staff and prefects awarded stickers to students spotted reading in a range of locations during break and lunchtime.

Students also showed off their photography skills in the’Bookface’ competition, submitting their images on Google Classroom for a chance to win one of three literary-themed prizes.

Together, staff and students read one section of ‘The Possibility of Evil’ at the start of each lesson, while Sixth Formers were given the option to read this thrilling short story during their silent study periods.

In art, students were busy redesigning covers of their favourite books, and in drama, our younger years engaged in a Matilda Theatre Workshop to celebrate the day.

Adding a touch of fun, Year 7 and 8 students (as well as the teachers!) were encouraged to dress up for the occasion.
