🌟 A Buzzing Oen Evening at MGGS! 🌟
Showcasing Our Amazing MEGA Departments
We were thrilled to welcome hundreds of Year 5 and 6 students — and their families — to our MGGS Open Evening on Tuesday. The school buzzed with curiosity and excitement as visitors explored what makes MGGS a place where students truly Learn, Grow & Achieve.
Our student guides from Years 7–10 led tours with confidence and warmth, bringing every corner of the school to life. We’ve had wonderful feedback from parents and carers — so thank you to all our student ambassadors for being such an excellent introduction to life at MGGS!
Throughout the evening, every department demonstrated its excellence:
- In Science and Technology, live experiments sparked wonder.
- In the Arts and Humanities, creative displays and performances showcased student work.
- In Languages, visitors could sample cultural insights and hear students speak confidently.
- In Computing, lessons integrated Google tools seamlessly, illustrating how technology underpins learning at MGGS (we are a Google Leading Light school) Maidstone Grammar School for Girls+1.
- In all subjects, students explained how their lessons are shaped by Mindset, Enrichment, Google & Advanced Thinking — the pillars of the MEGA programme. Maidstone Grammar School for Girls+1
Behind the scenes, Years 7–12 students helped run the show. Jess and Olivia (Year 12) led our branding and merch efforts, while Year 7s assisted in the Canteen and Year 9s (Eva and Lola) served refreshments:

Particularly, we were impressed by our guides Zara in year 10, and Francesca from year 7 who were a credit to the school. Not only were they informative, but also really good at speaking with my daughter about the fantastic pastoral support available. It was also lovely how friendly everyone was with my younger daughter who had to come with us, she was chuffed to get her own bag!”

Now, as Year 6 families make their final choices, we look forward to welcoming you into our MGGS community — where your daughter will thrive under the MEGA programme: cultivating a strong Mindset, benefiting from rich Enrichment, harnessing Google tools, and developing Advanced Thinking skills.
